How to use the SIP calculator

Enter a monthly investment in rupees, an expected annual return and a whole number of years. Select Calculate to see an estimate and annual breakdown. Reset clears results and restores the example inputs. Returns are assumed constant; actual markets fluctuate.

Formula and assumptions

With monthly investment P, monthly rate r = annual percentage ÷ 1200, and n = years × 12, the future value is P × [((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r] × (1 + r). Deposits occur at the beginning of each month and growth compounds monthly. At a 0% return, the value is P × n. The annual percentage is treated as a nominal annual rate, not an effective annual yield. Taxes, fees, inflation and market volatility are excluded.

Example

Investing ₹5,000 at the beginning of every month for 10 years at an assumed nominal annual return of 12% gives ₹6,00,000 invested and approximately ₹11,61,695.38 in estimated maturity value. This is a mathematical illustration, not a promised return.

Supported inputs

Monthly investment: ₹1 to ₹1 crore. Expected annual return: 0% to 50%. Duration: 1 to 50 whole years. Investment and return accept decimals. Negative returns are not modeled by this calculator; investments can lose value in practice.

Frequently asked questions

Is the return guaranteed?

No. The selected rate is a hypothetical constant assumption. Actual returns can be lower, negative or uneven.

Why does another calculator show a different value?

Deposit timing and rate conventions vary. This calculator uses beginning-of-month deposits and the annual rate divided by 12.

Can I enter a zero return?

Yes. At zero return the maturity value equals the total contributions.
